Computer programmers should make these restrictions easily accessible and free to every household to ensure the safety of young Internet user.

In elementary school and middle school, students have to take a computer typing class. These classes should not just be about the technique of typing but teaching the students how to safely surf the World Wide Web. They should be told about the dangers that lurk and learn how to be smart while on the Internet. Parents should also be continuously speaking with their children about online safety.

 

Enforcement

 

Parents are going to be the main source of enforcement in this topic. They should know who is connecting with their children and setting rules for instant messaging, online gaming, using the webcam, and social networking. Parents should establish limits for which online sites their children can visit.

 

Emergency Response​

 

In these types on Internet safety issues, emergency response would most likely consist of response from the law enforcement about cyber bulling and online harassment. In more serious cases, if a child gets abducted in a result of an online encounter, the response of law enforcement needs to take action immediately and use the online encounter as evidence.

As mentioned before, Internet safety programs should be available on every single computer so that parents can insure the safety of their children. This might cost programmers or computer companies to lose a small amount of their profit, but it is a very important need.
